Q: Have you got a Fermanagh Polygraph Examiner who can find out if my girlfriend has cheated on me?

I have just been diagnosed with genital herpes.  I am shocked and at my wits end.  My girlfriend and I have been together for 4 years and I’ve never been unfaithful to her. Having got my test results back I went home and confronted her.  She is adamant she hasn’t slept around and was horrified. She is now accusing me of cheating on her.

She went to her own doctor and she has also been diagnosed with genital herpes yet she has no symptoms.  I know I’m not responsible for this but she is going absolutely mad.  What is it they say about people protesting too much?

I want her to take a lie detector test because let’s face it; if it isn’t me then it has to be her. Can you help?

R. J., Fermanagh

Response from Fermanagh Polygraph Examiner

My initial advice to you is to calm down even though this may be difficult in the circumstances.  I suggest you both take lie detector tests. They will prove to each of you whether the other has been unfaithful.

However, it may well be that neither of you has cheated.

Genital Herpes

Many people have genital herpes for years without any symptoms, or none that they notice.  It’s not known what triggers “outbreaks” of the virus. Such outbreaks can manifest with blistered sores in the genital area that are quite painful. Many people won’t experience severe outbreaks and therefore may not know that they have the condition.

In reality either or both of you could have contracted the virus from a previous partner or sexual encounter. You only know about it now because clearly you’ve felt the necessity to be tested.

Lie detector tests in Fermanagh

You can book lie detector tests online using our secure reservation system.  Alternatively if you would like to discuss the matter further please call our free helpline on 0800 368 8277.  We’ll be happy to expand on the advice we have already given.

Take a deep breath and stop accusing each other until you get the results of your tests.  Genital herpes is not life threatening and there are drugs available to alleviate the symptoms.

I look forward to meeting you both in the near future.
