Terms and Conditions

In these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”), Lie Detector Test Ireland is referred to as “we/our/us” and the Booking Party and Attendee of an Examination are referred to as “I/Individual/Examinee/You”.

1. Terms of Booking

1.1. I confirm that I, the individual ordering the examination, have presented the Terms and Conditions in their entirety to the participating examinee. I also confirm all examinees participating in the examination have given their consent.

1.2. I agree that the examinee will not be permitted to undertake the examination if they have consumed alcohol or abused substances such as drugs or controlled substances in the 24 hours prior.

1.3. I confirm that the examinee is not pregnant, nor has given birth in the past 4 weeks. I also confirm the examinee has no heart conditions, including but not limited to use of blood pressure medication or a pacemaker. In such cases, the examinee will seek medical advice.

1.4. I confirm that both I and the examinee are at least 18 years old.

1.5. I confirm that if a booking is made with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full fee is due and all terms still apply.

1.6. The preferred date may be rescheduled due to:

  • Illness of the subject or examiner

  • Inaccessibility of a controlled office

  • Failure of IT or polygraph equipment

  • Other unforeseen circumstances

We guarantee that the test will be carried out within 10 working days of the originally selected date.

2. The Examination

2.1. I understand and agree that:

  • A government-issued photo ID must be presented

  • Aggression or abuse will result in termination with no refund

  • Any attempt at bribery, deception, or countermeasures will result in cancellation

  • Arrival must be 15 minutes prior; lateness will forfeit the appointment and payment

  • Only issue-specific, closed-ended questions are permitted

  • Up to 8 questions may be asked, with 2–3 being central to the case

  • Polygraph tests are used in conjunction with forensic psychological procedures

  • Suspected domestic violence will be reported

  • Reports are emailed after the test and not given in person unless otherwise agreed

  • No third parties during the test (allowed only in the pre-test interview)

  • Reports are sent within 24 hours (or 48 via tracked mail if requested)

  • If the client provides the venue, it must meet strict cleanliness and privacy standards

3. Fees and Cancellation

3.1. The full location is shared only once the full balance is paid.

3.2. By proceeding, you confirm you are the authorised cardholder.

3.3. Two payments are required:

  • €125 (non-refundable booking fee, inc. VAT)

  • Remaining balance of the selected test (charged later)

3.4. The €125 fee is charged at booking. The balance is charged after receiving the Pre-Examination Questionnaire.

3.5. The questionnaire must be returned within 24 hours of receipt or the booking may be cancelled.

3.6. If using Payl8r, full payment must be received before confirmation. No refunds are available once funds are released.

3.7. Full payment must be made at least 48 hours before the test. Failure to do so will result in cancellation and loss of fees.

3.8. Any required documentation must be submitted at least 48 hours before the test. Failure to do so will cancel the booking and all fees will be retained.

3.9. To reschedule, at least 48 hours’ notice must be given. The new test date must be within 30 days of the original date.

3.10. Booking fees can be transferred to a new appointment if at least 48 hours’ notice is provided.

3.11. If a cancellation is made more than 48 hours in advance, the balance may be refunded (less the €125 booking fee).

3.12. No refunds are issued after the test has been conducted, regardless of the result.

3.13. Violation of any terms results in cancellation with no refund or rebooking.

3.14. All payments are final. These terms override your bank’s refund policies, including those of Visa or Mastercard.

4. Data Handling

4.1. All data, charts, and recordings remain the examiner’s property and are managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

4.1.1. If you request deletion of test data, we will comply after delivering your report (with exceptions outlined under APA rules). Otherwise, all related data is deleted 24 hours post-report. For legal cases, we may retain data up to one year.

4.1.2. We may share your data with authorities if the test reveals indicators of sexual abuse or domestic violence.

5.1. We are not liable for delays or cancellations due to external events.

5.2. Examples include but are not limited to:

5.3. In such cases:
